It’s the 20th birthday of Starbucks’ Frappuccino -- a mix of sugar, vanilla powder, the mocha mix and shots of espresso.
The name of the irresistible drink originated from the frappe, which refers to a frozen milkshake in New England.
At first, Frappuccino was offered in mocha and coffee flavors only but now there is a long list of varieties. The latest one, the Birthday Cake Frappuccino, is a celebratory blend of vanilla bean and hazelnut, topped with whipped cream.
Today, the Frappuccino accounts for 20 percent of the coffee giant’s sales.
