“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” has topped the box office for the third week in a row, beating out Johnny Depp’s newest film, “Transcendence.”
“As we approach the summer movie season, box-office drawing power becomes more about the concept of the movie rather than its star,” said Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst for box-office tracker Rentrak.
The latest Marvel superhero film set the box-office record for the biggest April release ever, AP reported. “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” opened with more than $96 million in the U.S.
