Andong seeks singles for 'Solo Off' matchmaking program

The city of Andong in North Gyeongsang Province is accepting applications through June 20 for the first round of its 2026 "Solo Off" program, a matchmaking initiative designed to help young singles meet and foster a more vibrant community, city officials announced Sunday.

The program will run in two rounds. The first event is scheduled for July 4, with the second to follow sometime in September.

"Solo Off" features a range of activities aimed at helping participants connect in a relaxed setting, including relationship coaching by professionals, couples recreation and one-on-one rotation matching talks.

The first round is open to unmarried men and women born between 1987 and 2001 who either live in Andong or work for a company based there. Residents of other cities and counties within North Gyeongsang Province are also eligible to apply.

A total of 30 participants will be selected — 15 men and 15 women — and applications are being accepted through an online Naver form.

Applicants must submit supporting documents, including proof of employment and a certificate of marital status.

"We will continue to expand effective support policies so that young men and women can settle down in Andong and build a happy future here," a city official said.
