Three first-prize lottery tickets sold at single store — possibly to one buyer
A single lottery retailer has drawn attention after producing three first-prize winners in the same draw.
According to Dong-haeng Lottery, the operator of the Lotto lottery, Saturday's 1,247th draw produced the winning numbers 8, 14, 21, 22, 42 and 45. The second-prize bonus number was 24.
Eight tickets matched all six winning numbers to claim first prize, with each winner receiving 3.64 billion won ($2.75 million).
Six retailers produced first-prize winners in total. The store "All In" in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, accounted for three of them — all from manually selected numbers. If a single buyer purchased all three tickets, that person would collect about 10.9 billion won in prize money.
The remaining five winning tickets were all generated through automatic number selection. The stores were: Tto-towa Lottery in Sejong (Naseongbuk-ro), Gaya Hole-in-One Lottery in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi Province, Ilgwang Lottery in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, Sanbon Station Lotto Myeongdang in Gunpo, Gyeonggi Province, and Somang Lottery in Yangsan, South Gyeongsang Province. Each produced one first-prize winner.
Winners have up to one year from the prize payment start date to claim their winnings, or until the next business day if the deadline falls on a holiday.
