Entries accepted June 1 through July 10 on allergy disease prevention in everyday life
Daejeon is holding an atopy and asthma art contest from June 1 through July 10. The competition aims to raise public awareness of allergy disease prevention and management in everyday life and highlight the importance of keeping such conditions in check.
The contest is designed particularly to help children and teenagers — the next generation — naturally come to understand the importance of allergy disease prevention and express healthy lifestyle habits through creative work.
The contest is open to children enrolled in daycare centers and kindergartens, as well as elementary, middle and high school students residing in Daejeon. Participants may submit work on any topic related to allergy disease prevention and management in formats including posters, illustrated diaries, poetry illustrations and comics.
A total of 24 winners will be recognized across four award tiers: three grand prize winners (Daejeon Mayor Award), three excellence award winners (Center Director Award), seven merit award winners (Center Director Award) and 11 encouragement award winners (Center Director Award).
Winning entries will be presented to the public through an awards ceremony and exhibition, and will also be used as promotional content to spread awareness of allergy disease prevention and management.
Jung Eun-hee, director of Daejeon's Atopy and Asthma Education and Information Center, said she hoped the contest would give children and teenagers a natural opportunity to reflect on the value of good health and the importance of managing allergic diseases. "We will continue to pursue a wide range of education and outreach activities so that residents can practice prevention and management in their daily lives," she said.
