GS Global cleans national cemetery, supports infant care facility

GS Global said it visited Seoul National Cemetery in Dongjak-gu on May 27 to carry out cleanup and beautification work at the burial grounds.

About 40 employees from the financial management division, led by CEO Kim Seong-won, took part in the activity. After paying their respects at the memorial tower, the group fanned out across the cemetery to wipe down headstones, pull weeds and tidy the surrounding grounds.

On May 29, the company extended its volunteer efforts to Jacob's House, an infant and toddler care facility in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, in observance of Family Month. Kim and roughly 40 employees from the management strategy division joined the visit, carrying out indoor and outdoor improvements that included plogging — jogging while collecting litter along the way — and installing window blinds.

GS Global runs a range of annual community programs, including sponsoring a youth soccer school for children from multicultural families, supporting underprivileged residents near its Pyeongtaek operations and providing high school scholarships.

"We linked the cemetery cleanup and childcare support activities — both carried out directly by our employees — to fulfill our corporate social responsibility," a company official said. "We will continue to pursue community contribution activities that provide real help to the nation and local communities and spread a positive influence."
