Formal appointment to follow extraordinary shareholder meeting and board vote in July; move aims to maximize synergies between Emro and Samsung SDS

Emro, an AI-based supply chain management software company, announced Sunday it has designated Cho Sang-won, a senior executive at Samsung SDS, as its new CEO.
Cho currently serves as a non-standing outside director on Emro's board and heads the Digital SRM team within Samsung SDS's solution business division. He has led global sales and marketing for Caidentia, a software-as-a-service supplier relationship management solution jointly developed by Emro and Samsung SDS.
The company said the appointment is intended to maximize strategic synergies between Emro and Samsung SDS and accelerate its push into global markets, including North America and Europe.
Last year, Emro signed contracts in North America with a leading global PC and server manufacturer as well as local electronics makers and HVAC equipment suppliers. The company also participated for the third consecutive year in the Gartner Supply Chain Symposium/Xpo — held in Orlando from May 4 to 6 and in Barcelona from May 18 to 20 — where it showcased new procurement innovation cases.
Cho joined Emro on Sunday to begin the management transition and handover process. The company plans to complete the formal legal appointment through an extraordinary shareholder meeting and board meeting in July.
Current CEO Song Jae-min will step down after successfully completing the three-year term he committed to when Samsung SDS acquired Emro in May 2023. Song plans to remain with the company as an adviser, playing a central role in ensuring a stable leadership transition and continued growth.
