Second-shot chip-in eagle seals victory in playoff
Kim Tae-woo claimed his first career victory on the mixed screen golf tour, winning the fourth event of the 2026 S-OIL SEVEN G Tour Mixed with a playoff eagle at Golfzon Joymarue in Daejeon on Saturday.
Golfzon (CEO Park Kang-su) announced Monday that Kim finished at 29 under par — 15 under in the first round and 14 under in the second — before defeating Moon Seo-hyeong in a playoff. The winner's share was 17 million won (approximately $11,300) from a total purse of 80 million won (approximately $53,200).
The event was played on Golfzon's Solago CC – Lago course, rated course difficulty 1 and green difficulty 3.5, using Golfzon Two Vision NX tour mode over 36 holes of stroke play in a single day with no cut. A field of 92 male and female professionals competed, selected based on 2026-season G Tour award points and results through the fourth event. KPGA and KLPGA first-division players Jeong Chan-min and Yoo Hyo-ju also drew attention as invited entries.
Kim entered the final round tied for the lead and delivered an aggressive, bogey-free performance, stringing together consecutive birdies through the seventh hole. He seized momentum with an eagle on the 13th hole and finished at 29 under par, level with Moon. In the playoff, Kim opened with a powerful tee shot and then holed his second shot for a chip-in eagle to seal his first G Tour title.
Han Ji-min finished tied for third alongside Shim Hyeon-woo. Song Han-baek, Park Rae-seong and Park Chan-hee shared fifth place, while G Tour standout Kim Hong-taek, promising young player Kim In-ho 2 and Yoo Dong-hwa 2 finished tied for eighth.
"I was thrilled to compete alongside so many great professionals today, and I'm grateful for a victory I never expected," Kim said. "I'll work hard to keep my first-half seed on both the G Tour and the first-division tour so I can share more good news in the second half of the season."
