Yoo Sun-ho bids farewell to '1 Night 2 Days': 'It's really over now — thank you'

Actor Yoo Sun-ho has shared his thoughts on leaving the KBS variety program "1 Night 2 Days."

Yoo posted on his social media Monday, writing, "My last trip with '1 Night 2 Days' is really over now." He thanked viewers who had watched and supported the show, the production crew who helped create it, and his fellow cast members. "Thank you all, sincerely," he wrote.

He added, "I'll show you even more sides of me going forward, so please keep cheering me on. Until now, I was Yoo Sun-ho, the youngest member of '1 Night 2 Days.' Thank you."

Alongside the message, he shared photos taken with fellow cast members Din Din, Kim Jong-min, Lee Jun and Moon Se-yoon.

Yoo made his final appearance on the KBS 2TV program on Saturday.

In that episode, after all scheduled activities had wrapped for the night, the four remaining members quietly slipped out of their lodgings to prepare a surprise graduation party for their youngest. When Yoo discovered the gifts his older castmates had arranged, he could not hold back his emotions.

Each member read a personal letter aloud, and Din Din broke into tears midway through his. Yoo embraced him warmly and said, "Traveling across the country with you every week made me truly happy. This trip may be ending, but I feel like I've gained a family I'll have for life — and for that I'm grateful."

The next morning, as the cast headed to the village community center, the production staff arrived with doodles drawn on their faces — a consequence of a promise made the previous day that anyone who cried would have their face scribbled on. Seeing the crew's tearful farewell, Yoo finally broke down as well. He took a group photo with the cast and crew, his own face marked with doodles, and said his goodbyes to the show.

Yoo joined "1 Night 2 Days" as a new member in December 2022, winning viewers over with his sincere yet playful charm and sharp comedic instincts. In his final episode, he brought his signature bright energy to the last, closing out a three-and-a-half-year run on a warm note.

Yoo appeared in the film "Student Teacher Practice," which opened last month, and is set to take the stage in the play "Those Days," opening June 9.
