Everland's rose festival draws 200,000 visitors in first 10 days

Everland, operated by Samsung C&T's resort division, said Monday that about 200,000 visitors had attended its rose festival in the 10 days since it opened May 22. The Rose Garden is currently at about 90 percent bloom and is expected to peak this week.

The festival features 3 million roses across 720 varieties and this year introduced a new theme — "Hotel Rose Garden Royal High Tea" — inspired by classic European hotel gardens. The festival runs through June 21.

The event combines roses with fragrance, lighting, music and artwork to evoke the feel of a leisurely afternoon in a storybook hotel garden. Hands-on experiences centered on roses are available throughout the Rose Garden, including a dedicated showcase of Ever Rose, a rose variety developed in-house by Everland.
