Paris Baguette wins official halal certification for all Indonesia stores

Paris Baguette has received official halal certification in Indonesia, the world's largest Muslim-majority country, the company announced Sunday. The certification marks the bakery chain's second halal accreditation in Southeast Asia, following Singapore.

Halal certification is an internationally recognized quality system that verifies compliance with Islamic law across ingredient sourcing, hygiene, production and retail management.

Indonesia's government-authorized halal body, the Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH), granted the certification to all 23 of Paris Baguette's locations in the country, spanning Jakarta, Tangerang, Depok, Medan and Surabaya.

The certification covers the chain's full menu — bread, pastries, cakes, hot meals and beverages. Paris Baguette said it met halal standards across its entire supply chain, production process and store operations.

The company has been building a halal operating network across Southeast Asia in stages. Last year, it completed a 12,900-square-meter halal-certified production center in Johor, Malaysia, linking production, distribution and store operations under a single halal framework.

Paris Baguette secured halal certification in Singapore in February. Following the latest accreditation in Indonesia, home to some 240 million Muslims, the company said it plans to accelerate its push into the global halal market.

Paris Baguette currently operates more than 730 overseas stores across 15 countries, including the United States, Canada, France, the United Kingdom, China, Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Cambodia and Mongolia.
