Musk holds top spot with $820B fortune; Nvidia's Jensen Huang ranks 8th

Elon Musk has retained his title as the world's wealthiest person, while Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang — set to visit South Korea this week — ranked eighth on the latest global rich list.

According to Forbes, Musk's net worth stood at $820.4 billion (approximately 1,244.96 trillion won) as of Sunday local time, cementing his position at the top of the rankings.

He holds roughly a 12 percent stake in Tesla and also has options to acquire an additional 8 percent.

Beyond Tesla, Musk has founded and holds stakes in aerospace company SpaceX and AI startup xAI, and his fortune is expected to grow further if SpaceX lists on a stock exchange this month. In February, he combined SpaceX and xAI, projecting a combined enterprise value of $1.25 trillion.

Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin ranked second and third, with net worths of $309 billion and $285 billion, respectively.

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos held fourth place with $277 billion.

Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison ($276 billion) and Dell Technologies Chairman Michael Dell ($244 billion) took fifth and sixth place, both leapfrogging Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg ($217 billion), who slipped to seventh.

Forbes noted that tech industry titans saw significant wealth gains this month. Ellison added $71 billion to re-enter the top five, while Dell gained $67 billion as surging AI-related demand drove Dell Technologies' share price sharply higher.

Huang ranked eighth with a net worth of $182 billion, backed by a roughly 3 percent stake in Nvidia. He co-founded the chipmaker in 1993 and took it public in 1999, going on to reshape the IT industry through graphics processing units. His wealth is expected to climb further as the semiconductor market boom continues to lift the company's share price.

Huang is scheduled to arrive in South Korea on Thursday, and during his visit he is expected to appear on the tvN variety program "You Quiz on the Block" — his first appearance on an entertainment show. The episode is set to air later this month.

Nam Seung-yong, a management leader at CJ ENM, said the episode will tell Huang's life story — "from a boy washing dishes to the CEO of the world's most valuable company by market cap" — covering his drive, his foresight in reading the AI era, and his vision for the kind of talent the future demands.

Meanwhile, LVMH Chairman Bernard Arnault ($148 billion) re-entered the top 10 at ninth place. Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer ($141 billion) climbed five spots to 10th, lifted by a rise in Microsoft's share price.

According to Forbes, billionaires' combined wealth reached $2.9 trillion (approximately 4,401.62 trillion won) this month.
