A man who secretly invested in the stock market and earned more than 100 million won ($66,200) in profit is now wrestling with whether to come clean to his wife — and his dilemma has gone viral online.

The man, identified only as A, wrote that he had invested in shares without his wife's knowledge and that he was fortunate enough to ride a Kospi bull run, netting more than 100 million won in profit.

He added that his wife has a conservative personality, has never invested in shares and actively dislikes the idea. "I have no intention of hiding it as a secret fund — I just want to keep holding the position," he wrote, saying he was unsure how to break the news without upsetting her.

He went on to say that he had no desire to be praised and that his wife's strong aversion to dishonesty was what made the situation so difficult. He also added that he had not taken out any loans to fund the investment.
