Applications open through June 23 for registered people with disabilities and wounded veterans; district covers 80% of device costs, with extra support for low-income households
Jungnang-gu is accepting applications for its 2026 Assistive Information and Communications Technology Device Distribution Project through June 23.
The project aims to improve digital access for people with disabilities who face barriers to using information and communications services, narrowing the digital divide by providing customized assistive devices that expand opportunities for social participation.
Eligibility extends to registered people with disabilities residing in Jungnang-gu, as well as veterans recognized with a service-connected disability rating. The program covers 128 devices — 61 for visual impairments, 19 for physical and brain lesion disabilities, and 48 for hearing and speech disabilities — allowing applicants to choose equipment suited to their specific needs.
Selected recipients will receive support covering 80 percent of the device's purchase price. Basic livelihood recipients, near-poverty households, and other low-income applicants with disabilities are eligible for additional subsidies to further reduce out-of-pocket costs.
Applications may be submitted through the Assistive ICT Devices website, in person at the district office or a neighborhood community center in the applicant's registered district, or by mail — all by June 23. Phone applications are not accepted, as identity verification and document submission are required.
Final recipients will be selected through a comprehensive review of application forms, usage plans, and in-depth consultation results. The Seoul Metropolitan Government will announce the outcomes on its website on July 16.
The district has distributed 72 assistive ICT devices over the past three years as part of its ongoing effort to improve information access for people with disabilities. Jungnang-gu plans to continue expanding tailored support policies to ensure no resident is left behind in an increasingly digital environment.
