Sayuri, a 46-year-old single mother, has spoken candidly about why she pays such close attention to her health.
On Wednesday, she posted a video titled "Introducing 46-year-old Sayuri's daily morning routine (feat. bare face)" on her YouTube channel "Sayuri Immida."
The video drew attention for showing her carefully working through a range of health supplements and vitamins as part of her morning routine.
When a producer asked why she takes so many supplements, Sayuri answered without hesitation: "I need to live a long time." She added that while everyone wants to live healthily, being a single mother makes her think about her health more than most.
"I think taking care of my health is the same as taking care of Zen," she said. "I try to live as healthily as I can."
Sayuri chose single motherhood after giving birth to her son Zen through sperm donation in Japan in 2020.
