Hoban Summit Yangjae opens apartment subscriptions for youth, newlyweds near Yangjae Station

Hoban Construction will begin accepting apartment subscriptions June 8 for Hoban Summit Yangjae, a youth housing complex in Yangjae-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul.

The company announced Thursday that the subscription window for the complex, located along Gangnam-daero 187 in Seocho-gu, opens June 8.

Hoban Summit Yangjae is a publicly supported private rental housing development aimed at providing residential stability for young adults and newlywed couples. The single-building complex spans seven below-ground floors and 17 above-ground floors, comprising 224 units ranging from 23 to 54 square meters in exclusive use area. Of those, 138 units will be offered as publicly supported private rentals.

The unit breakdown by exclusive use area is as follows: 19 units at 23 square meters, three at 40 square meters, four at 45 square meters, 32 at 46 square meters, 64 at 51 square meters, and 16 at 54 square meters.

The subscription period runs June 8 through June 10. Winners will be announced June 12, and contracts will be signed from June 24 through June 27 following verification of winning households.

Applications are accepted through the Hoban Summit Yangjae official website. Special supply units are available under youth and newlywed categories, while general supply units are offered under the newlywed category only. Applicants may submit one application per unit type, choosing between special supply and general supply.

To qualify for general supply, applicants must be between 19 and 39 years of age as of the resident recruitment announcement date. Newlywed couples must have been married within the past seven years, while prospective newlyweds must be able to verify their marriage before moving in. Detailed eligibility requirements are available on the website.

Residents can stay for up to eight years at rents set below prevailing market prices. All units are enrolled in the Korea Housing Finance Corporation's rental deposit guarantee insurance, providing protection for deposit refunds.

Location is another selling point. The complex sits within a five-minute walk of Yangjae Station, served by both subway Line 3 and the Sinbundang Line, making it a dual transit-oriented development. Improved connectivity is also anticipated once the Greater Seoul Metropolitan Express Railway GTX-C line comes online.

Everyday amenities surround the complex as well. Nearby green spaces include Maljukgeori Park, Maeheon Citizens' Forest and Yangjae Stream Neighborhood Park, while Costco, E-mart, Gangnam Severance Hospital and the Seocho-gu district office are all within easy reach.

The complex also features specialized designs tailored to residents' needs. The 54-square-meter units offer a three-bedroom layout — uncommon in youth housing complexes — to maximize space efficiency. The extra room can serve as a study, walk-in closet or children's bedroom depending on residents' lifestyle.

"Hoban Summit Yangjae is a publicly supported private rental housing development in an excellent location within walking distance of Yangjae Station, where residents can put down roots for the long term," a company official said. "With reasonable rental terms, a convenient residential environment and a range of community facilities, we expect strong interest from young adults and newlywed couples."

Meanwhile, the Hoban Summit Yangjae website offers virtual reality tours of select units. A promotional center is also open at a nearby retail space on site.
