Partners to collaborate on large-scale projects including public bids and energy infrastructure
Hana Securities has joined forces with IPARK Hyundai Development to promote productive finance.
Hana Securities announced Thursday it signed an MOU with IPARK Hyundai Development aimed at "promoting productive finance and strengthening competitiveness in advanced strategic industries."
Productive finance refers to financial activity that channels capital toward areas contributing to real economic growth — such as corporate investment and industrial development — rather than concentrating on real estate-backed or household lending.
Under the agreement, the two companies will cooperate on funding support, investment and fund formation to advance productive finance. They also plan to identify joint business opportunities in large-scale projects, including public bids, as well as in energy and power generation. The partnership will extend to sharing market and financial industry trends and expanding business collaboration through Hana Financial Group affiliates.
Hana Securities plans to leverage its capital markets capabilities to support financing and financial structuring for large-scale projects and energy and power generation ventures. IPARK Hyundai Development will draw on its development and construction expertise to sharpen its project execution and maximize synergies between the two firms.
The MOU extends Hana Securities' broader strategy to expand productive finance. The firm has been actively pursuing new businesses, including security token offerings and the securitization of real assets. Earlier this year, it became the first in South Korea to advise on the issuance of an investment contract security backed by domestically raised pork, demonstrating the potential to turn non-standard assets into financial products.
"This agreement is a meaningful starting point for creating new national growth engines through productive finance and contributing to the competitiveness of advanced strategic industries," Hana Securities CEO Kang Sung-mook said. "We will serve as a genuine financial partner in large-scale projects and future industry ventures, drawing on our differentiated financial solutions capabilities."
IPARK Hyundai Development CEO Jeong Gyeong-gu said the company plans to "actively identify business opportunities in productive finance and future growth industries through cooperation with Hana Securities," adding that the two sides would work to build a sustainable business collaboration model grounded in their respective expertise and networks.
