The Professional Billiards Association (PBA), led by President Yoon Young-dal, announced Thursday that its directly operated Team League franchise will be named PBA Breakers.
Earlier, the PBA said it would establish and run its own team after SK Rent-a-Car ended its Team League sponsorship. Following the draft, the association selected eight players who had gone unpicked: Lee Seung-jin (world ranking 56), Oh Seong-wook (48), Lee Sang-yong (44), Antonio Montes (Spain, 32), Im Gyeong-jin (46), Hida Orie (Japan, 46), Kim Da-hee (27) and Hwang Min-ji (24).
Along with the roster, the PBA unveiled the team name, logo and slogan. The name PBA Breakers reflects the team's ambition to "break through its own limits and overturn the balance of power in the Team League," with a pledge to write new history through teamwork against established powerhouses.
"PBA Breakers is a symbolic team that will inject fresh tension and energy into the Team League," the association said. "We ask for your attention and anticipation as the Breakers push past limits and create a new story."
The Breakers will make their debut in the opening round of the Welcome Savings Bank PBA Team League 2026-2027, set to begin July 5 in Gwangmyeong, Gyeonggi Province.
