The Korea Magazine Association is organizing an event to explore the future competitiveness and sustainable development of the magazine industry in the AI era.
The association, led by President Baek Dong-min, will hold the 46th Magazine Publishers Seminar in Shanghai, China, from June 11 to 13. Sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the seminar will be held under the theme "The Future of the Magazine Ecosystem in the AI Era."
On the opening day, June 11, lectures and presentations will take place at the Arirang Hall of the Korean Cultural Center Shanghai, with some 100 domestic magazine publishers in attendance. Kim Young-jun, South Korea's consul general in Shanghai, and Kim Jae-hyeok, senior vice chairman of the Korean Association of Shanghai, are among those scheduled to participate.
Lee Dong-hyeok, director of the Korean Cultural Center Shanghai, will deliver a special lecture on the current state of Korea-China cultural exchange in the city. Kim Jeong-seop, a professor in the Department of Cultural Industry and Arts at Sungshin Women's University, will then present on the potential of the magazine industry in the AI era, under the title "Can the Magazine Industry Be Reborn as an AI Data Industry?" Hwang Chang-yeon, executive vice president of PlanTM, will introduce the AI innovation strategy behind "Moajin," a digital magazine platform.
"The technological environment is changing rapidly, but the role of magazines in producing quality content and connecting readers with society remains important," association President Baek said. "I hope this seminar will serve as an opportunity to share new directions for growth and a future vision for the magazine industry in the AI era."
The Korea Magazine Association, founded in 1962, is the country's leading organization for the magazine industry and has continued policy research and exchange activities to advance the sector and respond to changes in the media landscape.
