Kwon Ki-chang wins reelection as Andong mayor, vows uninterrupted development

People Power Party candidate Kwon Ki-chang won reelection as mayor of Andong, North Gyeongsang Province, in the ninth nationwide local elections held Thursday.

In a victory statement Thursday, Kwon thanked residents for giving him another opportunity to serve. "This result is a precious victory shaped by the will of citizens who want to see Andong's development continue without interruption," he said.

He said he would hold residents' hopes in the highest regard and take their mandate to heart. "I will pour all my energy and passion solely into Andong's growth and the happiness of its citizens," he said.

Kwon pledged to serve residents with greater humility and a stronger sense of responsibility. "I will open the path to Andong's next 100 years and lead its development without pause," he said.

He called on the community to unite behind a shared vision for the city's future. "Now is the time for all citizens to come together as one and build a greater Andong," he said. "I will do my utmost to create a city where no one is left behind — moving beyond division and conflict toward politics of harmony and unity."
