Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang to visit T1 PC bang, meet Faker on first stop of Korea trip

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, arriving in South Korea on Friday, will make a PC bang run by esports organization T1 his first stop.

According to Nvidia and gaming industry sources, Huang will land at Gimpo Airport around 1 p.m. Friday, hold a brief question-and-answer session, and then head straight to T1 Base Camp, a PC bang in central Seoul. The visit is his first to South Korea in about seven months, following a trip last October.

At the venue, Huang is expected to meet with T1's League of Legends roster and team officials to discuss ways to promote the esports industry. All five players on the squad are expected to attend — captain Lee Sang-hyeok, known as "Faker" and called the Emperor of LoL, along with Choi Hyun-jun ("Doran"), Moon Hyun-jun ("Oner"), Kim Su-hwan ("Paze") and Ryu Min-seok ("Keria").

Huang has long shown a deep interest in South Korea's gaming industry and esports. During his visit last year, he chanted "Faker" from the stage and said that without PC games, PC bangs and esports, there would be no Nvidia today.

After meeting with the players, Huang will attend a dinner that evening at Hyeongnim Jeoyo, a samgyeopsal restaurant near Hongik University that celebrity British chef Gordon Ramsay has previously visited.

The dinner is expected to bring together SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won, Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Euisun Chung, LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo and Naver Chairman Lee Hae-jin. Over samgyeopsal and soju — a combination Koreans call "samso" — the group is expected to discuss a broad range of cooperation, spanning AI semiconductors, robotics, physical AI and AI data center infrastructure.

The visit comes as Nvidia moves to expand its partnerships with Korean companies beyond HBM-centered AI semiconductor supply chains into areas including automotive, robotics, gaming and cloud infrastructure.
