Seoul's Eunpyeong-gu will run its "Healthy City Eunpyeong! Moderate-Intensity Brisk Walking" program on June 15 to promote residents' health and encourage a culture of regular walking. District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung is leading the initiative.

The program will be held along the Bongsan Barrier-Free Forest Trail and is designed to help participants build cardiorespiratory endurance through everyday walking while experiencing the restorative effects of the forest.

Participants will walk a roughly 3-kilometer round-trip course starting from the cypress forest entrance behind Sungsil High School, passing through the cypress woodland path, the Maru rest shelter and the observation deck area. A professional forest guide will accompany the group, introducing Bongsan's natural ecosystem and supporting safe walking throughout.

Registration is limited to the first 30 applicants and is free for Eunpyeong-gu residents and those whose daily living area falls within the district. Applications are accepted through June 12, by email, phone or in-person visit to the Health and Sanitation Division on the seventh floor of the Eunpyeong-gu Public Health Center.

"Walking is a quintessential health activity that anyone can do without special equipment," District Mayor Kim said. "I hope residents will enjoy Bongsan's beautiful nature while gaining both health and vitality."
