Top speed exceeds 350 km/h; F1-inspired technology; deliveries set for first half of 2027
Audi unveiled the Nuvolari on Thursday, the brand's first high-performance hybrid supercar.
Limited to 499 units worldwide, the Nuvolari produces 1,001 horsepower — the most powerful output in Audi's history — and a top speed exceeding 350 km/h, making it the fastest production car the brand has ever built.
"In an era of fundamental change, Audi is making bold strategic decisions," said Gernot Döllner, chairman of the Audi AG board of management. "The Audi Nuvolari will bring pure emotion and performance to the road, and it shows how we are taking 'Vorsprung durch Technik' to a new dimension in the age of electrification."
The Nuvolari packs a range of Formula 1-inspired technologies. Its next-generation all-wheel-drive system, Quattro Predictive Ride, processes real-time sensor data — including steering angle, acceleration, yaw rate and road grip — to anticipate corners before the car enters them. An active aerodynamics system continuously adjusts downforce and drag to suit driving conditions.
The high-performance hybrid powertrain delivers a combined system output of 736 kW (1,001 hp), pairing a 588 kW (800 hp) 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine with three axial-flux electric motors. The car accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds.
The Nuvolari is the first production car to fully realize Audi's new design philosophy. Its exterior is defined by taut surfaces, precise lines and a commanding presence, with every design element serving a clear functional purpose. The car comes standard in Titanium, Audi's new signature color.
Inside, a restrained architecture focuses all controls on core functions, placing key elements of the human-machine interface directly within the driver's line of sight. The HMI's color accents pay homage to the legendary Auto Union Type C racing car that dominated record-breaking competition in the 1930s.
Production is capped at 499 units globally, with deliveries scheduled to begin in the first half of 2027.
"The Audi Nuvolari stands for exclusivity, performance and the ultimate in desirability," said Schubert, Audi's head of sales and marketing. "With this model, we are making a clear statement about our entry into the high-performance segment and cementing Audi's position as the most coveted premium automotive brand among our customers."
