Spacecoin (SPACE), a decentralized satellite internet project, announced Monday it has launched an open beta of SpaceRouter Onion, a distributed network privacy service.
SpaceRouter Onion routes users' internet traffic through multiple relay nodes in sequence. The system is designed so that no single node can simultaneously identify a user's identity and their connection destination.
The company said through official channels that in conventional internet environments, internet service providers and network operators can access users' connection data, and that VPN services similarly delegate traffic handling to a specific operator.
SpaceRouter Onion routes each user's traffic through three independent nodes before it reaches its final destination, applying multi-layer encryption at each step. Each node is configured to see only a portion of the overall communication data.
For example, the Guard node can see where a connection originates but not its destination, while the Exit node can see the destination but not the user's identity.
All nodes operate through an on-chain registration and verification system built on Creditcoin, which governs how nodes are registered and validated on the network.
Spacecoin plans to run SpaceRouter Onion alongside SpaceRouter Proxy, a solution that supports internet traffic for AI agents, and intends to integrate both services with satellite network infrastructure in the future.
The company also plans to expand network participation by introducing an open node network and an on-chain reward system.
"During the open beta period, we will gather user feedback and work on improving the service," a Spacecoin official said. "We are also reviewing potential integration with satellite internet infrastructure going forward."
