Midas IT, a construction engineering software company, said it sponsored the "Workshop on Long-Span Bridges for High-Speed Railways," organized by the University of Transport and Communications in Vietnam.
The workshop was held in Vietnam in April, drawing faculty from the university along with local bridge design engineers.
Vietnam is pursuing a project to build a north-south high-speed railway connecting Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The line is planned to stretch approximately 1,541 kilometers through mountainous terrain and river crossings, requiring long-span bridge designs.
At the event, Midas IT introduced design concepts for long-span bridges for high-speed rail, international standards trends, and wind- and seismic-resistant design.
The company also presented bridge design case studies using its civil structural analysis and design software, MIDAS CIVIL NX. The presentations covered dynamic analysis accounting for high-speed rail load conditions, track-bridge interaction analysis, and structural behavior analysis by construction stage.
"We participated in this workshop as part of a technology exchange related to Vietnam's high-speed railway project," a Midas IT official said. "We plan to continue collaborating with local academic and industry partners going forward."
