Singer Kim Yun-seol of 'Singer Again 4' dies at 28

Kim Yun-seol (real name Kim Myeong-ju), a singer who captivated audiences with her deeply expressive vocals on JTBC's music competition show "Singer Again 4," died June 7. She was 28.

Kim Jae-guk, the vocalist of band Ta-copy, announced her passing Monday on social media. "Kim Yun-seol, who appeared alongside me as Singer No. 6 on 'Singer Again 4,' has gone to heaven," he wrote. "She was such a kind person. I offer my deepest condolences."

Born in 1998, Kim first came to public attention in 2013 when she competed under her real name on Mnet's children's talent show "Voice Kids" and won the inaugural season. That same year, she made her debut with the digital single "Man and Woman" and later released tracks including "Finally Good-Bye." She went on to appear on "I Can See Your Voice Season 7" and "Voice Korea 2020" in 2020. Last October, she took part in JTBC's "Singer Again 4," entering as unnamed Singer No. 6 and advancing through the first round.

On May 23, Kim had written on social media: "I am singing again under my own name now. I hope that wherever my songs reach, a little happiness reaches there too."
