5–20 mm of rainfall forecast for Greater Seoul and Gangwon Province; showers to linger in parts of Gangwon through the evening

Rain is forecast for parts of Greater Seoul and Gangwon Province on Wednesday, with some areas expected to see gusty winds and thunder and lightning, forecasters warned.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, rain will fall over the central inland areas of Gangwon Province, the central and northern mountain zones, and the northern East Sea coast, with most showers tapering off by evening.
In Greater Seoul, scattered raindrops of less than 0.1 mm are possible between dawn and 6 a.m.
Rainfall totals are expected to reach 5–20 mm across Greater Seoul and Gangwon Province.
Residents in affected areas should secure outdoor facilities and guard against safety hazards, as some locations may see strong gusts alongside thunder and lightning.
Morning lows are forecast between 12 and 17 degrees Celsius, with afternoon highs reaching 24 to 30 degrees. While midday temperatures will feel fairly warm, mornings and evenings will be noticeably cooler, producing a wide daily temperature swing.
Near-shore wave heights are expected to reach 0.5–1.0 meters on the East and South seas and 0.5 meters on the West Sea.
Offshore wave heights are forecast at 0.5–1.5 meters on the East and South seas and 0.5–1.0 meters on the West Sea. The Korea Meteorological Administration urged those planning maritime activities to check the latest weather information before heading out.
