Choose your ending: Lotte World Folk Museum launches immersive horror show 'Stay Alive in Museum'

A new immersive horror performance is set to debut, with endings that change based on each audience member's choices.

Lotte World Folk Museum opens ticket sales June 15 for "Stay Alive in Museum," an immersive horror show that uses the entire museum as its stage. The production is tied to "Unsealed: The Great Goblin Uproar," a summer festival Lotte World Adventure runs from June 26 through Aug. 30.

The show centers on a curse that breaks loose while preparations are underway for a special exhibition called "Joseon Goblin Chronicles: A History of Korean Curses." Audience members take on the role of new recruits on the Lotte World performance team, joining the exhibition setup before finding themselves trapped inside the folk museum and fighting to survive against the clock. Individual choices steer the story in different directions, so no two audience members necessarily share the same outcome.

Performances run throughout the festival period at Lotte World Folk Museum, with shows starting at 7:30 p.m. on both weekdays and weekends. The running time is 90 minutes. A 20-minute pre-show begins at 7:10 p.m., giving audiences a chance to interact with actors and ease into the story's world before the main performance. The minimum age is 16.

Tickets are priced at 50,000 won (about $33). Advance purchases made from June 15 to June 19 receive a 20 percent discount. Return visitors qualify for a 30 percent discount, and guests holding a Lotte World Adventure all-day pass on the day of the show receive 20 percent off.
