Hyundai Futurenet, an ICT specialist affiliate of Hyundai Department Store Group, said Wednesday it has signed an AI chatbot supply agreement with BR Korea, the operator of Baskin-Robbins in South Korea, and will roll out the service before the end of the year.

The chatbot is a mobile assistant service that answers questions from Baskin-Robbins store owners and employees about store operations in real time.

It is being developed using Hyundai Futurenet's integrated AI solution OptiForce. At its core is a proprietary database called VectoCore, which stores text, image and audio data by semantic similarity to enable fast retrieval.

The service also incorporates retrieval-augmented generation, or RAG, technology, which has the AI search its database for relevant information before generating a response to improve answer quality. OptiForce supports multi-cloud services built on Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure.

"We will accelerate the diversification of our B2B portfolio by leading with our own customizable AI solution," a Hyundai Futurenet official said.
