Singer Lin has explained why she spends much of her time sitting on her bathroom floor — eating, reading and more — after the unusual lifestyle drew widespread attention.
Appearing on SBS Power FM's "Cultwo Show" on June 9, Lin responded to a listener who asked about her bathroom habit. "It's warm, and it's actually the smallest space in the house, but I feel so at ease in there," she said. "If it's suddenly too wide, I think I might have a panic attack."
Lin also addressed concerns about hygiene. "A lot of people worry about cleanliness — I clean the bathroom once a day. Still, it is dirty, hygienically speaking. But that place is strangely comfortable," she added.
Lin appeared on SBS's "My Ugly Duckling" on June 7, offering a glimpse into her life alone following her divorce from Lee Soo of M.C. the Max.
What drew particular attention was that Lin spent most of her time at home not in the living room or bedroom, but in the bathroom. She was shown sitting on the bathroom floor eating, singing, knitting and reading.
The sight of Lin wedged into the narrow gap between the sink and the toilet, snacking on beans, left her fellow cast members visibly baffled. Even her mother, who appeared on the show, was taken aback. "Why are you sitting on the floor like that? I've never seen you sit on the floor like that before," she said.
Lin married Lee Soo in 2014 and finalized their divorce last August after more than 12 years of marriage.
