Curious about a more beautiful wedding? Visit Seoul Botanic Park this weekend

The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced Wednesday it will hold the "Seoul Wedding Festa" at Seoul Botanic Park's lawn grounds Friday and Saturday to promote a more accessible and meaningful wedding culture.

The event is designed for engaged couples as well as families of all generations to reflect on the meaning of marriage, gather information and consultations on the city's "More Beautiful Wedding" program, and enjoy a range of hands-on activities.

The More Beautiful Wedding project supports the use of attractive urban spaces — including parks, Namsan and the Han River — as wedding venues. The number of ceremonies held through the program has grown every year since launching with 75 in 2023, rising to 155 in 2024, 280 in 2025 and 548 in 2026.

The main stage, styled as an outdoor wedding setting, will host More Beautiful Wedding demonstration ceremonies on both days, with visitors invited to walk down the aisle and take photos on stage. Celebratory performances by well-known musical actors and singers, along with busking and other entertainment, will run daily throughout the event.

In the consultation booth zone, 15 wedding partner companies operating under the More Beautiful Wedding program will be on hand to advise on outdoor ceremony planning and step-by-step wedding preparation. Advance reservations are recommended; couples can book directly by calling their preferred vendor listed on the program's website.

The corporate booth zone will feature a Samsung Electronics Family Mall promotion and an AI experience hall. Events planned include a Family Mall membership sign-up drive for engaged couples and a hands-on demonstration of AI features on Samsung smart devices open to all visitors.

Booths run by the Seoul Women's Family Foundation, Seoul Family Center, Seoul Housing and Urban Development Corporation (SH) and a youth financial literacy program will also operate at the event to promote city policies for engaged couples and young residents. The Seoul Women's Family Foundation booth will provide information on all 61 More Beautiful Wedding venues, reservation procedures and equipment subsidy eligibility, while the Seoul Family Center booth will offer comprehensive counseling for engaged couples, newlyweds and families.

Family-friendly activity programs will round out the festival. In keeping with the wedding theme, visitors can take part in ongoing workshops including couple ring making, flower crown making, calligraphy postcard and wedding invitation making, and a wedding photo zone.

Ma Chae-suk, head of the Seoul Metropolitan Government's Women and Family Bureau, said the event "will be a festival where not only engaged couples but also married couples and families can connect and share in the celebration together."
