Nexen Tire receives Ministry of Health and Welfare minister's commendation on World Blood Donor Day

Nexen Tire announced Wednesday that it received a minister's commendation from the Ministry of Health and Welfare for its contributions to spreading blood donation culture and stabilizing the blood supply, ahead of World Blood Donor Day on Sunday.

The Ministry of Health and Welfare awards the commendation to individuals and organizations that have led efforts to advance blood services over multiple years. Nexen Tire was the only tire company among the 11 organizations honored this year. The company was recognized for establishing a blood donation culture in-house while sustaining meaningful social contribution activities, including support for children with pediatric cancer.

"This commendation is the fruit of the warm hearts of our employees, who shared in the value of giving life and participated voluntarily," a Nexen Tire official said. "We will continue to fulfill our corporate social responsibility and expand social contribution activities that provide real help to underserved neighbors."

Since introducing an in-house "blood bank" system in 2021, Nexen Tire has maintained a series of community-minded initiatives: blood donation promotions to help address the national blood supply crisis during the COVID-19 pandemic (2021–2023), a commendation from the Korean Red Cross for blood donation contributions (2022), a donation of blood donor certificates to the Korea Leukemia Children's Foundation (2023), and an MOU with Hanmaeum Blood Center (2025).
