Smart technology has become a key factor in housing choices, with remote control, security and energy management features via smartphone driving growing interest in residential systems that enhance daily convenience.
According to a consumer awareness survey on AI home appliances conducted last year by market research firm Embrain, 79.3 percent of 2,537 adults aged 20 to 64 who had purchased or used AI appliances within the previous year said they had bought a product equipped with AI functions. Of those buyers, 67.3 percent said they were actively using the AI features — particularly notifications, remote control and monitoring.
Industry officials say interest in smart residential systems is rising especially among dual-income households, families with children and professionals who travel frequently. The appeal lies in managing lighting, heating, parking location and security through a single platform.
Amid this trend, Hyundai E&C is offering Hillstate Yangsan The Sky in the Gachon-ri and Beomeo-ri area of Mulgeum-eup, Yangsan, South Gyeongsang Province.
The complex comprises two sub-complexes with a combined 598 units. Complex 1 will rise from 4 below-ground floors to 20 above-ground floors across four buildings, offering 299 units with exclusive use areas of 68 to 159 square meters. Complex 2 will span 3 below-ground floors to 20 above-ground floors across four buildings, with 299 units ranging from 84 to 159 square meters in exclusive use area.
The development will incorporate Hyundai E&C's residential platform "My Hills," which lets residents use a smartphone app to control lighting and heating, check parking locations, and monitor and remotely operate select functions inside and outside their units.
A "Car-to-Home" system will also be installed, linking vehicles to the living space. The IoT-based service allows residents to control select built-in appliances from inside their car.
Indoor air quality will be managed through heat-recovery ventilation units fitted with HEPA filters. Water supply pipes, pumps and key valves will use stainless steel, while in-unit piping will use synthetic resin pipes and brass valves.
Hyundai E&C's inter-floor noise reduction technology, the H Silent Home System, is also planned for the complex. Community facilities will include an indoor golf practice range, a fitness center, a Hills Lounge and a study lounge, along with H Isup, an indoor children's play space.
All units are designed in a flat-type four-bay layout with a ceiling height of 2.4 meters. Glass railings will be installed in living rooms — excluding master bedrooms — to enhance the sense of openness.
Lifestyle infrastructure is close at hand. The Yangsan City Central Library and the Yangsan Central National Sports Center are located near the complex, and Yangsan Design Park is within walking distance. The park covers approximately 180,000 square meters and features walking trails, a children's playground, a bicycle path, an outdoor stage and a soccer field.
Residents can reach central Yangsan via Hwangsan-ro and Busan National University Road. Nearby transit options include Jeungsan Station on Busan Metro Line 2, Mulgeum KTX Station, and the Mulgeum and Nam-Yangsan interchanges.
