Transportation convenience has emerged as a top priority in housing choices, sustaining strong interest in apartment complexes near rail stations.
Anticipation is building around expanded regional transit access, including Line 1 at Uiwang Station and the planned GTX-C line.
Apartments with strong transit access continue to draw steady interest in the Greater Seoul pre-sale market.
Transit-oriented apartments generally benefit from walkable access to subway or rail stations, offering both commuting convenience and proximity to everyday amenities. Complexes close to stations are particularly popular among end-users looking to cut commute times.
A survey by Gallup Korea, published in its "2026 Real Estate Trends" report, found that consumers ranked transportation convenience as the single most important factor when choosing a home — outpacing development potential, residential environment and education conditions.
The trend is also playing out in the apartment subscription market. "Gongdeok Station Xi Rene," launched in April in Mapo-gu, Seoul, closed its first-round subscription with an average competition ratio of 80 to 1. "Doosan We've The Central Suwon," offered in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, also drew strong demand, recording an average ratio of 14.6 to 1.
SK Ecoplant to launch Uiwang Station SK View in July amid GTX-C expectations
Amid this backdrop, SK Ecoplant plans to launch pre-sales for "Uiwang Station SK View" in July in the Samdong area of Uiwang, Gyeonggi Province. The complex, developed through the Bugok District housing redevelopment project in Uiwang, will rise up to 34 above-ground floors with three below-ground levels across 13 buildings, totaling 1,857 units — of which 820 will be offered in the general pre-sale.
The complex's most notable feature is its proximity to Uiwang Station on Line 1, which provides direct access to major Seoul destinations including Seoul Station and Yongsan Station without transfers. The nearby Bugok IC also offers convenient access to the regional road network.
Expectations for future transit improvements are high. The GTX-C line is planned to serve Uiwang Station, and once operational, it is expected to significantly improve access to the Gangnam area of Seoul. A planned Uiwang City Hall Station, roughly 3 kilometers away, is set to be served by the Indeokwon–Dongtan double-track rail line, while extensions of the Wirye–Gwacheon line into southern Gyeonggi Province and the Sinbundang Line are also in the works.
The surrounding education environment is another draw. Uiwang Deokseong Elementary School, Bugok Middle School and Uiwang High School are all within walking distance of the complex.
The complex also benefits from a pleasant residential setting. Wangsong Lake Park, Bugok Sports Park and Deokseongsan are all nearby, and some units are expected to offer views of Wangsong Lake. The park features walking trails, rest areas, a campsite and a rail bike course, among other leisure facilities.
Planned community amenities include a fitness center, group exercise room, Pilates studio, golf practice range, screen golf room and table tennis hall, as well as a guesthouse, small library, reading room, study rooms and a residents' cafe.
The Uiwang Station SK View model house is planned to open in the Samdong area of Uiwang, Gyeonggi Province.
