Son Heung-min ranks 6th, Lee Kang-in 15th in AI-generated World Cup 'most handsome' list

South Korea captain Son Heung-min has been ranked sixth among the most handsome players at the 2026 North America World Cup, according to an AI-generated list.

The British outlet Daily Mail on Friday published a ranking of World Cup players' looks compiled by AI firm DreamAI using the golden ratio.

DreamAI selected 150 players from the tournament based on Google search volume, then applied its "Golden Face Ratio" facial proportion analysis tool to produce the rankings.

Son scored 73.24 percent to claim sixth place, while Lee Kang-in came in 15th, putting two South Korean players in the top 20.

Argentina midfielder Rodrigo De Paul topped the list with a score of 74.18 percent. Germany's Kai Havertz came second at 74.10 percent, followed by England's Noni Madueke at 73.29 percent. Egypt's Mohamed Salah and Brazil's Endrick rounded out the top five at 73.27 percent and 73.25 percent, respectively.

Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo, widely regarded as one of football's most iconic-looking players, scored 70.98 percent and landed at 45th.

DreamAI CEO Georgi Dimitrov said the results were notable for not simply mirroring player fame. "Ronaldo is one of the most image-conscious athletes in history, yet he placed 45th in this analysis," he said.

He added that the tool measures only facial proportions, not style, fashion sense, confidence or marketability. "There may be a gap between these results and the attraction people feel in real life," he said.
