Mexican outlet La Afición reported Sunday that Hong had taken a phone from one of his star players during training, describing it as a scene "straight out of a school."

The incident occurred during a recovery session at Chivas Verde Valle in Guadalajara, following South Korea's victory over the Czech Republic.

Lee was spotted briefly pulling out his phone during the session. Hong walked straight over, took the device without a word and slipped it into his own trouser pocket, then turned to look at Lee. Lee appeared briefly caught off guard but responded with a smile, clasping his hands behind his back in a playful, mock-scolded pose. Teammates Oh Hyeon-gyu and Seol Young-woo, who witnessed the exchange, burst out laughing — the moment appearing to be more of a good-natured joke than a reprimand.

Hong soon returned to the group, said a few words to Lee and handed the phone back. Lee took it back with a grin.
