Buzz down to one member as Min Kyung-hoon remains sole holdout

South Korean group Buzz has been reduced to a single member after the other members departed, leaving Min Kyung-hoon as the sole remaining artist.

Long Play Music, the agency for Buzz, said Saturday that exclusive contracts with the other members had expired and that the company was now focused on supporting Min's solo activities.

"A full reunion of all founding members will be difficult for now," the agency added, asking fans to send warm support to the members who are pursuing new paths.

The company said the group name "Buzz" and the musical catalog released under it would remain intact, and that it was exploring ways to carry on the team's identity.

News of the lineup change had surfaced a week earlier through the Instagram account of Buzz leader Kim Ye-jun.

Kim posted a photo of the South Korean flag on Instagram with the caption "re-election," a gesture widely interpreted as support for calls to hold a new vote following a ballot shortage during the June 3 local elections. He then left a comment clarifying: "This is my personal opinion. It has nothing to do with Buzz, so please don't misunderstand. I am no longer a member of Buzz."

The comment sparked confusion among fans who sensed a change in the group's lineup, prompting the agency to issue an official statement.

Buzz was formed in 2000 and rose to widespread popularity in the early-to-mid 2000s before disbanding in 2007. In 2014, all five founding members — Min Kyung-hoon, Kim Ye-jun, Yoon Woo-hyun, Shin Jun-gi and Son Sung-hee — reunited and resumed activities.
