Seocho-gu hosts the 'Jang Mi-hwa's Beautiful Touch' charity bazaar at the Seocho District Office plaza June 15 and 16, offering donated goods at low prices — all proceeds go to elderly people living alone, people with disabilities, and other vulnerable neighbors in the community. A lunchtime mini-concert is also planned.
Seoul's Seocho-gu (district mayor Jeon Seong-su) will hold the 'Jang Mi-hwa's Beautiful Touch' charity bazaar at the Seocho District Office plaza June 15 and 16 to support marginalized residents and promote a culture of sharing.
Running since 2011, the bazaar sells a wide range of donated items — including celebrity contributions, clothing, household goods, handcrafted products and food — at affordable prices. All proceeds will go to vulnerable neighbors in the district, including elderly people living alone and people with disabilities.
Singer Jang Mi-hwa will be joined by roughly 10 fellow entertainers who have long taken part in the event, including Park Sang-cheol, Kim Hye-yeon and Pyeon Seung-yeop. Celebratory performances by the singers are also scheduled to entertain visitors throughout the two-day event.
"I hope this bazaar brings a small ray of hope to those in need and inspires more people to join in the spirit of giving," said Jang, the event's organizer.
Seocho-gu District Mayor Jeon Seong-su said the bazaar is "more than a simple sales event — it is a meaningful occasion for the community to come together and put the value of sharing into practice," adding that he hopes many residents will take part and share their warmth.
