Seongbuk Chunchun Bulpae Film Festival accepts submissions through July 7 in a short film competition open to Korean youth; selected works screen at the November festival, which carries a total purse of 25 million won (about $16,400)
Seoul's Seongbuk-gu is accepting submissions for the short film competition of the 6th Seongbuk Chunchun Bulpae Film Festival to support the creative work of young filmmakers.
The district said the competition, organized by the Arirang Cine Center under the Seongbuk Cultural Foundation, will accept entries through July 7.
The Seongbuk Chunchun Bulpae Film Festival is a public short film festival held to support young filmmakers and foster a locally rooted film culture. Last year, 1,067 films were submitted from across the country, establishing the festival as a leading short film competition platform for young creators.
The competition is open to Korean youth between the ages of 19 and 34, with short films of up to 30 minutes eligible for submission. Selected works will screen at the 6th Seongbuk Chunchun Bulpae Film Festival, to be held at the Arirang Cine Center in November.
The festival carries a total purse of 25 million won (about $16,400). The grand prize winner receives 5 million won, and the event gives outstanding young creators a stage to present their work to the public.
Seongbuk-gu District Mayor Lee Seung-ro said the festival is "Seongbuk-gu's signature film festival, built together by young creators and residents," adding that the district will continue working to build a cultural environment where young people can freely tell their stories and connect with the community.
The 6th Seongbuk Chunchun Bulpae Film Festival is scheduled to be held at the Arirang Cine Center in November. Further details on the submission process are available on the festival's official website.
