Sales, operating profit each rise more than 10% year on year
E-commerce, overseas expansion and shareholder returns drive strategy
Bullsone, a specialist automotive products company, posted its best-ever first-quarter earnings this year, signaling a strong path toward a record annual performance.
The company announced Monday that it recorded sales of 46.4 billion won (about $30.5 million) and operating profit of 5.8 billion won in the first quarter, both up more than 10 percent from the same period a year earlier and the highest figures for any first quarter in the company's history. Building on last year's record annual results, Bullsone is targeting full-year sales and operating profit growth of more than 10 percent over the prior year.
To achieve that goal, the company is pursuing three core strategies: sustainable growth, securing future growth engines and an active shareholder return program.
On the e-commerce front, Bullsone plans to expand its online-exclusive product lineup and broaden consumer choice by combining in-house developed products with sourced offerings. The company also intends to deepen partnerships with major platforms to strengthen its online channel sales base.
Bullsone is also moving to broaden its product portfolio. Leveraging the competitiveness of its core lines — fuel additives and vehicle care products — the company plans to expand eco-friendly car care products and premium lines to reinforce its position as a total car care brand.
This year also marks the 30th anniversary of "Bullsone Shot," the company's flagship product, and Bullsone is focusing on strengthening brand competitiveness to mark the occasion. The company plans to expand its reach to global consumers through motorsport-linked marketing, including sponsoring Shin Woo-hyun, South Korea's only FIA Formula 3 driver, and sponsoring Formula 3 broadcasts.
Business diversification is also on the agenda as the company seeks new growth engines. Bullsone plans to leverage the product development and retail capabilities it has built in the car care segment to expand into healthcare and home care products, broadening its footprint into the lifestyle sector.
The company is also stepping up its push into overseas markets. Bullsone plans to increase participation in trade shows and exhibitions in key markets including the United States and China to build relationships with local partners and customers, while diversifying its export destinations.
Investment in operational efficiency is continuing as well. In March, Bullsone completed a new materials warehouse at its factory in Eumseong, North Chungcheong Province, expanding storage capacity by about 51 percent. The new facility covers 2,109 square meters and is expected to cut external warehousing costs and improve production and logistics efficiency.
Bullsone is also strengthening its shareholder return policy, with plans to conduct regular share buybacks and cancellations while targeting a dividend payout ratio of at least 30 percent.
"We demonstrated our growth potential by posting double-digit growth in both sales and operating profit in the first quarter," CEO Jeon Jae-ho said. "We will raise the competitiveness of our core businesses while achieving record annual earnings and enhancing corporate value through e-commerce, new products and overseas market expansion."
