Verse drawn from poet Jeong Yeon-bok's 'Today's Path'
Update marks company's 50th anniversary
Board has been in operation since 2016
S-OIL announced Monday that it has updated the poetry board on its headquarters building in Mapo-gu, Seoul, with a verse drawn from poet Jeong Yeon-bok's "Today's Path."
The selected lines reflect the value of living each day with purpose — walking one's own path even amid the busyness of daily life. S-OIL chose the verse to mark its 50th anniversary this year, selecting lines that invite reflection on life's journey as the company looks back on a half-century of history and looks ahead to a new chapter.
S-OIL has maintained the poetry board at its Mapo headquarters since 2016, selecting seasonal verses to share messages of comfort and hope with local residents as part of its ongoing community engagement. In March, the board featured an excerpt from Jeong's "The Smile of a Wildflower" to welcome spring.
"We hope this verse reminds citizens caught up in their busy lives of the value of each day, and gives them the courage and peace of mind to walk their own path," a company official said. "We will continue to use the building's poetry board to connect and communicate with the local community, carrying forward our ESG management commitment to spreading messages of hope."
