'Sangpul Cheering Squad' to rally World Cup fans at Incheon's Sangsang Platform

The roar of the 2026 North America World Cup is set to fill Sangsang Platform, Incheon's flagship multipurpose cultural complex.

The Incheon Tourism Organization announced Monday that it will run the "Sangpul Cheering Squad" — a communal viewing and cheering program for South Korea's national football team — at Sangsang Platform on June 19 and June 25.

The Sangpul Cheering Squad is more than a place to watch a match. It is a participatory sports culture program where citizens gather in one space to cheer, laugh and share the thrill of victory together.

The event marks an expansion of the Sangpul Cheering Squad, which had built a following as a citizen participation program centered on Incheon United FC away matches, now extended to the World Cup stage.

The venue is Wave Hall inside Sangsang Platform, where a large screen and high-quality sound system will deliver an atmosphere as close to being in the stadium as possible.

The indoor setting means attendees need not worry about summer heat or sudden rain. Participants will also receive cheering supplies, including clappers, to help fuel the energy in the hall.

The fun extends beyond the match itself. Interactive events will be held before kickoff and at halftime, with prize draws offering Korea Football Association merchandise and football goods.

Pre-registered participants will receive complimentary drinks and popcorn, adding to the festival feel of what organizers are billing as a "Sangsang Platform-style World Cup cheering festival."

"We will continue to develop a variety of programs so that Sangsang Platform can establish itself as a leading cultural space where citizens participate and connect — and this World Cup cheering event is a great opportunity to do just that," said Yoo Ji-sang, president of the Incheon Tourism Organization.
