The Anyang Human Resources Development Foundation announced Monday that it had held the "2026 First-Half Anyang City Scholarship Certificate Ceremony" at Anyang City Hall's auditorium.
This year's selection covered two categories: hope scholarships for students from low-income households and achievement scholarships for academically outstanding students. Funded in part by a donation from Kona I, the foundation expanded eligibility this year to include children of small-business owners and the self-employed, bringing the total number of recipients to 543 — 107 middle school students, 268 high school students and 168 university students.
More than 800 students and family members attended the ceremony to celebrate the recipients. Anyang talent scholarship students Kim Min-gyeol of the Korea National University of Arts, Seong In-mo, Seok Sin-hwa and Shin Seo-yeon of Seongmun High School, and Kim Na-hee of Anyang Elementary School added to the occasion with performances of traditional Korean music, dance and children's songs.
"Anyang City and the foundation will be a steadfast partner for students as they press forward toward their dreams and goals," said foundation Chairman Choi Dae-ho.
