4,600 Hana Bank staff compete in pension expertise contest

Hana Bank said Monday it has concluded the "2026 Pension Masters Competition," an in-house contest held for staff nationwide to sharpen their retirement consulting skills.

The competition is one of Hana Bank's flagship pension education programs, designed to deepen employees' expertise in pension services and identify top talent.

Hana Bank has held the contest annually since 2024 to strengthen pension consulting capabilities at its branches and provide customers with more systematic retirement planning services.

About 4,600 branch and headquarters staff from across the country took part in an online qualifying round this year. Of those, 50 who posted the best scores by division advanced to the finals and competed on stage.

Hana Bank President Lee Ho-seong attended the final along with other executives and employees to cheer on the contestants, who competed for the honor of their respective divisions.

Cho Ju-hee, a manager at the Dong-Ulsan branch, took first place. "Preparing for the contest was a valuable experience — I studied hard on the retirement pension system, taxation and retirement planning," Cho said. "I will keep building my expertise so I can become the best pension partner for customers, helping them prepare for a stable retirement."

Meanwhile, Hana Bank has been moving quickly to strengthen its pension business. After elevating its pension business division last year, the bank expanded and reorganized it this year into a dedicated "Retirement Pension Group."

"Hana Bank will continue to spare no effort in building our employees' pension capabilities," Lee said. "We will further solidify our standing as South Korea's premier pension bank, delivering differentiated pension solutions to our customers."
