Renault's Filante available from 279,000 won a month

Renault Korea has expanded its financing and maintenance programs for the Renault Filante, its global flagship crossover utility vehicle, to lower the barrier to purchase. The move is designed to broaden the model's appeal in line with a growing consumer trend in which buyers scrutinize not only the sticker price but also monthly payments, running costs and future resale value.

A sustained period of high interest rates and elevated prices has sharpened consumer focus on total cost of ownership — a calculation that factors in financing charges, fuel, maintenance and depreciation after the initial purchase. The trend is particularly pronounced among buyers in their 30s and 40s, who increasingly treat a car as a long-term lifestyle expense rather than a simple asset.

That shift is also driving stronger demand for hybrid vehicles. While many buyers once hesitated over hybrids' higher upfront prices compared with gasoline models, lower fuel costs and stronger resale values have made them increasingly attractive on a long-term economic basis.

Renault Korea has put together a financing package for Filante buyers that reflects these priorities. Customers who choose the Filante Hybrid E-Tech Iconic trim can use the MFS residual-value-guaranteed 60-month installment product with a 30 percent down payment, bringing monthly payments to around 279,000 won (about $185). The trim is priced at 46.969 million won after individual consumption tax reductions and eco-friendly vehicle tax incentives.

The "5-Year Worry-Zero Buyback" program addresses consumer anxiety about depreciation. Customers who drive no more than 10,000 kilometers a year are guaranteed a fixed residual value at the end of five years. At contract expiration, they can return the vehicle with no additional payment or use a follow-on financing product to keep it, removing much of the uncertainty around long-term value loss.

Maintenance benefits have also been enhanced. Through the "R Premium Care Solution," Renault Korea provides five engine oil changes, five air-conditioning filter replacements, premium vehicle inspection services and an extended warranty. The package is intended to reduce post-purchase service costs and lower the total expense of running the vehicle over time.

The Filante is Renault Korea's global flagship model, powered by an E-Tech hybrid system producing a maximum 250 horsepower. Measuring 4,915 millimeters in length with a 2,820-millimeter wheelbase, the E-segment crossover combines the interior space of an SUV with the ride comfort of a sedan.

The vehicle's features have also been upgraded. First-class lounge seats inspired by airline cabins, frequency-selective dampers and active noise cancellation enhance ride quality on long journeys. The cabin also features an openR panoramic display, the AI-powered voice assistant "A. dot Auto" and over-the-air connectivity via FOTA, strengthening the overall digital experience.
