Worker in 20s killed after forklift rolls back at Jeju Hanaro Mart

A worker in his 20s was killed after being pinned by a forklift at a Hanaro Mart in Jeju.

According to the Jeju Western Police Station, a report came in around 3:30 p.m. Thursday that an employee, identified only by the surname initial A, had been crushed by a forklift at a Hanaro Mart in Jeju.

Authorities said A had briefly stepped off the forklift while driving it from the underground parking garage to an above-ground floor. The vehicle then rolled backward and pinned him.

Emergency responders performed CPR on A and transported him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police are investigating the exact circumstances of his death.
