Children showcase singing, dancing and acting; free admission June 20-21 at aT Center Exhibition Hall 2
The 2nd Seoul Children's Musical Festa, a stage event where children take the spotlight to showcase their talents and dreams, opened Saturday at a special stage inside Exhibition Hall 2 of the aT Center in Yangjae-dong, Seoul.
The event was designed to help children build creativity and confidence through cultural and artistic activities and experience the joy of performing arts. Selected for the Seoul Metropolitan Government's private festival support project for the second consecutive year, the festival is establishing itself as a leading cultural arts event for children.
Three groups performed on opening day — EST (Elite Star Team), Brillante Musical Choir and Dream Friends (Playstar Musical Team) — delivering a varied program. Soprano Lee Mun-gyeong also delighted the young audience with a special concert titled "A Musical Concert of Dreams and Magic."
The children made full use of the occasion, displaying skills they had honed through musical gala performances, choral numbers, group dances and acting pieces.
The young performers took to the stage with nervous expressions but quickly grew into their roles, drawing sustained applause with their singing, dancing and acting. Parents and audience members who packed the seats cheered at the end of each performance, celebrating the children's efforts.
Around the venue, children who had finished performing were spotted taking photos with their families, creating lasting memories of the day.
"We organized this event so that children can experience expressing themselves on stage, cooperating with one another and growing through that process," the organizers said. "We will continue to develop this into a festival that champions children's dreams and potential through culture and the arts."
The 2nd Seoul Children's Musical Festa runs through Sunday, with free admission open to all.
