BTS' hit song "Dynamite" has surpassed 900 million cumulative streams on Japan's Oricon chart.
Big Hit Music, the group's agency, said the milestone makes "Dynamite" only the eighth song in Oricon history to reach 900 million streams — and the first by a foreign act.
The song's cumulative stream count stood at 900.95 million as of this week.
Japanese acts that have reached the 900 million streaming mark on Oricon include Yoasobi, Yuuri, Official Hige Dandism and Mrs. Green Apple. BTS is now the sixth act overall to reach the milestone.
"Dynamite" is an upbeat disco-pop track celebrating the value of everyday life and the joy of living.
BTS' "Permission to Dance" has also crossed 500 million cumulative streams on Oricon, becoming the group's third song to reach that threshold after "Dynamite" and "Butter."
BTS' 'Arirang' tops Japan's first-half album sales chart
BTS' popularity in Japan continues to climb.
According to Billboard Japan's first-half "Top Album Sales" chart, released June 6, BTS' fifth studio album "Arirang" was the best-selling album in Japan in the first half of this year, moving 706,961 copies and topping the chart ahead of domestic acts.
Six other K-pop acts also appeared in the chart's top 20 alongside BTS.
Meanwhile, BTS has maintained a long run on the main US Billboard charts with "Arirang," logging 11 consecutive weeks of entries.
According to Billboard's Tuesday update, the album's title track "SWIM" rose three spots from the previous week to No. 41 on the Hot 100.
"Arirang" itself slipped two places from the previous week to No. 11 on the Billboard 200.
