Seoul National University, Korea University and Yonsei University to be visited in sequence, with major-specific experiences and professor lectures

The Yeongdeungpo-gu Future Education Foundation, under District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon, announced it is recruiting participants for a "University Career Tour Program" designed to help local middle and high school students explore career paths and build academic motivation.
The program takes students on sequential visits to three of South Korea's most prestigious universities — Seoul National University, Korea University and Yonsei University. It includes hands-on major-specific experiences, professor lectures, mentoring sessions with current students and campus tours to give participants practical guidance in planning their futures.
The first stop, Seoul National University, is scheduled for July 9 and is open to 24 middle school students. In partnership with the university's Life and Environmental Science Education Center, participants will take part in a DNA extraction program, learning about cell structure and the principles of genetics.
The Korea University tour follows on July 24 and is open to 30 middle and high school students. Professor Kim Jung-heon of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering will deliver a lecture titled "AI and Future Society," introducing students to the present and future of AI technology.
The final visit, to Yonsei University, takes place Aug. 7 and is also open to 30 middle and high school students. Professor Kang Ju-hoon of the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering will speak on "Semiconductor and Materials Processing," covering the semiconductor materials that make AI possible.
All programs run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Through mentoring sessions and campus tours led by current students at each university, participants will hear firsthand accounts of college life and the admissions process, and have the opportunity to discuss their career concerns.
Registration for the Seoul National University tour is open through Sunday. Applications for the Korea University and Yonsei University tours will be accepted from July 1 through July 16. Final participants will be selected by online lottery.

District Mayor Choi said he hoped the program would give students "a meaningful opportunity to visit universities in person, explore majors and career paths, and begin mapping out their futures in concrete terms."
