Samsung Electronics wins HVAC contract for premium residential complex in India

Samsung Electronics will supply air conditioning solutions to The Orchard, a residential complex under development in Gurugram, India, through a partnership with Central Park, one of India's leading real estate developers. The company is accelerating its push into global markets by delivering high-efficiency HVAC solutions to the premium residential complex.

The project is a large-scale undertaking that will install more than 3,000 Samsung residential system air conditioning units across 300 households. Full move-in is scheduled to begin in early 2027.

Gurugram is a satellite city about 30 kilometers south of New Delhi and one of India's most prominent industrial hubs, home to major startups and global IT companies. The area has a high concentration of high-income residents and regularly sees summer temperatures exceeding 45 degrees Celsius, driving strong demand for high-performance, high-efficiency air conditioning solutions.

Samsung Electronics plans to use this supply deal as a springboard to expand its HVAC business — previously centered on large commercial buildings such as offices, shopping malls and hotels — into the premium residential market, while strengthening its position as an AI home solution provider in India and other global markets.

India is widely regarded as one of the most strategically important markets in the global HVAC industry, with some of the highest growth potential. Demand for premium HVAC systems continues to rise, driven by the country's hot climate, rapid urbanization and rising income levels. Interest in smart air conditioning solutions that combine energy efficiency and connectivity has also been growing, particularly in upscale residential complexes.

For this project, Samsung Electronics will supply a large volume of high-efficiency units combining the DVM S2 — a large-capacity outdoor unit that connects a single outdoor unit to multiple indoor units — with the Wind-Free 1-Way ceiling cassette, the company's residential system air conditioner.

The DVM S2 can connect up to 64 indoor units to a single outdoor unit, making it well suited for large-scale residential complexes, commercial facilities and schools.

Inside each residential unit, Samsung's Wind-Free 1-Way ceiling cassette — the company's flagship residential air conditioning solution — will be installed. Its compact design allows for easy installation and efficient use of space, enhancing the overall quality of interior finishes.

The units are also equipped with a PM 1.0 filter that removes ultrafine dust and sterilizes 99 percent of captured harmful bacteria, enabling clean indoor air year-round.

When connected to SmartThings, users can manage the temperature, humidity and air quality in each room from a mobile device. The system also allows real-time monitoring of power consumption and energy savings through an AI energy-saving mode.
